Oct/Nov School Closure Student Programming Options

Dear CES Families,

With our big school move happening in just seven short weeks, we wanted to pass along a few tremendous opportunities that several community partners have created during the time students will be off from school.  During the two week period, local organizations have partnered up to offer some exceptional programs for the weeks of October 26-30th and for November 2nd-6th.

Each organization will launch and manage their respective registrations.  It is possible that if available spots fill up, there will be waiting lists.

Transportation will be managed by Conners Emerson and details regarding locations of morning drop off and afternoon pick up times will be provided following next week’s registration window.  The school will update when registrations have closed.

The YMCA and the Jesup Library have teamed up to offer a collaborative program for students in grades K-4.  The YWCA  and SFOA have teamed up to create programming for students in grades 1st-6th.  And Camp Beech Cliff will be offering programming for our olders in grades 5-8.  CES will not be managing registrations, so please reach out to each organization for any registration questions or any cost potentially associated with them.

We are so incredibly grateful for these organizations creating experiences for our CES families. This is just additional proof of how committed our community is to provide impactful and fun opportunities for our young people.  A huge thanks from all of us over CES!

See the programming summaries below for more details.

Kids at the Y will engage in active play at our gym, pool, and the School Street Playground; with additional arts, crafts, and STEM offerings to round out the morning. Morning snacktime will be at the Y.

At the Jesup Memorial Library, kids will work with local theater teacher Andrew Simon to adapt a folktale into a play during the mornings.  Sam, Jesup's Makerspace Assistant, will help the kids build sets and make costumes for the play.  Other activities will include building with Magnatiles, our Super Space tiles, and Keva planks; reading and storytimes, games, coloring, and a couple of special presenters! Lunch and afternoon snacks will be at the Jesup Library.
